New Name and Exciting New Chapter!

Dear Members and Friends,

For over 125 years, the National Council of Jewish Women San Francisco Section, Inc., a grassroots non-profit organization of volunteers and advocates, has been on the forefront of local efforts to improve the lives of women, children and families and safeguard  equal rights for all. We take enormous pride in our impactful programs that have helped over the years to transform communities and empower vulnerable groups across the Bay Area.

As we continue this critical work, we are faced with a quickly evolving, entirely new model of the historical federated network of NCJW sections, transforming it into a single legal entity. This model would no longer allow our independent operation as an autonomous non-profit organization.
Therefore, to ensure the preservation of our programs that serve local community needs, we are taking action to maintain the non-profit status of our organization, secure its operation independently from the NCJW single entity, and continue our programing under a new name:

Jewish Women’s Alliance of the Bay Area (JWABA)

We are grateful for the rich history as part of the NCJW network, spanning over 125 years, and will continue to be open to future collaboration. Our staff, board of directors, mission and programming remain the same. Our new name keeps our identity as Jewish women and allies from all backgrounds making a difference and reflects our expanded work throughout the Bay Area.

We are very excited to continue with you in this new chapter of dedication and commitment to our mission and impactful programs.
Stay tuned for our further announcements and information!
